Hi! I'm Mr. Wiles, originally from the beautiful state of Oregon. I earned my degree from the University of Oregon, where I was a member of the Robert D. Clark Honors College and double majored in Political Science and Environmental Studies. During my time there, I developed a strong interest in environmental policy and wrote my undergraduate thesis on dam deconstruction, focusing on the historic removal of dams on the Klamath River, the largest project of its kind in U.S. history.
After graduating, I joined Teach for America and moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where I spent two incredible years teaching 5th and 6th grade math at Believe Memphis Academy. That experience deepened my love for education and helped me grow as a teacher and mentor. I've always enjoyed math for the way it builds problem-solving skills and confidence, and I love finding ways to make it accessible and engaging for every learner.
I'm also passionate about history, law, social studies, politics, geography, and the natural sciences. I believe all of these subjects help students better understand the world and their place in it. Whether we're working on equations or discussing the branches of government, I strive to make learning meaningful, clear, and fun.
Outside the classroom, I love playing basketball and soccer. I bring that same energy and teamwork mindset to tutoring and always aim to help students feel supported, challenged, and successful. I look forward to working with you.

Outside of tutoring, I’m someone who loves staying active and exploring new places. I grew up hiking in Oregon and still enjoy getting out into nature whenever I can. I like to work out regularly, try new restaurants, and discover different neighborhoods and cultures through food. I recently moved to Chicago and have been enjoying everything the city has to offer—from lakefront walks to getting into baseball for the first time, thanks to the energy around the Cubs and White Sox. I also love playing basketball and soccer, which keep me competitive, focused, and connected to others.
