I have been a classroom teacher for the past 22 years. Also, I have conducted private tutoring both virtually and in-person for over 5 years. I have extensive experience working with students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. My philosophy is that all students can learn and demonstrate mastery of skills and concepts. I believe my role as an educator is to build a rapport with my students, implement effective instructional strategies and guide my students to becoming confident, self-directed learners. My area of specialty is teaching English Language Arts. I particularly love seeing students improve their reading comprehension by applying skills such as inferencing and drawing conclusions. Teaching writing is my passion, and during my career, I have been able to help students excel at essay writing, creative writing and poetry. My genuine desire to see each of my students grow is integral in my teaching practices.
