Ian: University of Louisville tutor
Certified Tutor
My practiced specialty in tutoring is Math, but my original degree is in Electrical Engineering. I am comfortable and confident in tutoring both Math and Electrical Engineering.
In math I tutor:
Pre-Calculus
Calculus 1-3
Ordinary Differential Equations
In Electrical Engineering I tutor:
Circuits 1-3 (DC, AC, Diodes, Amplifiers, etc.)
Control Systems (Systems Analysis)
Electromagnetic Fields (Electrostatics)
Electromagnetic Waves (Electrodynamics)
In my time working as a Math tutor at Western Carolina University, I met and tutored many students who claimed they "... hated math". Of these student, I remember several students who eventually changed majors to Math. While this may not end up being you, I can confidently say that most students left feeling more confident in their math skills. I firmly believe that there is nothing too difficult to learn. It may take time and effort, but it is never impossible.
There is no shame in needing or wanting tutoring, and it does not make you less of a person. You had the resolve to seek help and gain a greater understanding. That is something worthy of respect.
