Nicole: Montgomery County tutor
Certified Tutor
I am currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry and Sustainability at the University of Virginia. During high school, I tutored peers through McMatics and Chemnection, two programs focused on supporting fellow students in math and chemistry. Through these roles, I developed a deep understanding of how to tailor explanations to different learning styles and help students build confidence in STEM subjects. At UVA, I've continued to support fellow students in physics as a TA, while also mentoring others through leadership positions in student organizations.
While I tutor a range of subjects, I am especially passionate about chemistry and SAT prep. I enjoy helping students break down complex scientific ideas into clear, manageable steps, and I find it incredibly rewarding to guide students through the strategy and critical thinking required for standardized tests. My tutoring style is supportive, patient, and flexible. I aim to meet students where they are and help them develop lasting skills and academic confidence. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, baking, and exploring local coffee shops, and I'm deeply interested in environmental justice and community service.
