Certified Tutor

I am a rising junior majoring in Computer Engineering with a double minor in Mathematics and Integrated Information Technology at the University of South Carolina. My passion for tutoring developed early, stemming from the invaluable lessons I learned in my youth. Just like my teachers did for me, I wish to make learning exciting for other students and help them thrive academically. My favorite topics to tutor are Math and English, and I've already had the opportunity to teach these topics to elementary and high school students before.

To me, tutoring means helping someone learn a topic in a way that supports independent growth. So eventually they will no longer need to rely on my tutelage, but can utilize the knowledge they've obtained to progress. That is why my tutoring style is centered around the student. I adjust lessons to the appropriate pace for each student and I tend to make them very interactive. In this way, I can facilitate their understanding of the material by allowing them to figure things out independently while still guiding them in the right direction. By doing so, I hope to help students truly learn the topics and build their confidence in completing the steps on their own.
