Jacob: Manhattan tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm not a certified teacher, but I've always been the kind of person people come to when they need help understanding math. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Notre Dame and my Master's in Business Analytics from Cornell University, where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Throughout school, I took advanced courses in calculus, statistics, algebra, and linear algebra, and I regularly helped classmates work through challenging concepts. Now, I want to offer that same support to high school students who are struggling or looking to get ahead.
What I bring to the table is a clear, patient, and relatable approach. I know what it's like to feel stuck on a problem, and I remember what it took to push through and really "get it." My goal is to help students feel less intimidated by math and more confident in their ability to tackle it. I'm not here to lectureI'm here to break things down, ask the right questions, and guide students toward those lightbulb moments.
While I don't have formal teaching experience, I've used math every day in the real worldanalyzing data, building models, and solving problems in fast-paced business environments. I love helping students understand not just how to do math, but why it matters. If you're looking for a smart, supportive tutor who can connect with students and explain things in a down-to-earth way, I'd love to help.
