As a retired English teacher of 32 years, I have a vast variety of subjects to draw from when helping a student to achieve a goal. Two specialities of mine include analysis of literature, through essay writing and the essence of journalistic writing, through my Masters in Journalism from Temple University. I encouraged my students to publish their writing and I also wrote features for a local paper for ten years. I enjoy editing, but have never been a "red pen" kind of teacher. If a student makes the same mistake, which is often the case, I will correct it once, but expect the student to look for other instances. My teaching philosophy has always been as a student "cheerleader" advocate:)

No surprise, my favorite hobby is reading! Next would be writing - I have recently completed a memoir about my childhood spent at a cottage on Black Log Mountain:) I love to travel and have visited 25 countries so far. For exercise, I take ballroom dancing lessons and have performed several exhibitions. I also enjoy Improvisation Workshops and have participated in a few showcases. Finally, I like to cook one dish meals with a variety of ingredients!
