I am excited to help students gain a deeper understanding of History, Literature, and Philosophy, as well expand their writing and test-taking skills. I am deeply passionate about history and all kinds of human creative projects like literature, philosophy, art, and science. Having long studied and taught history, I have a great appreciation for how learning about the past can change the way we see and understand events and processes happening around us today.

I have taught hundreds of students at all different levels, primarily as a doctoral student at the University of California, Berkeley. I helped students there in a number of history courses to learn how to plan and carry out a well-researched history essay, better argue and explain historical events and ideas, analyze primary and secondary sources, and pass exams. I myself completed a PhD in History at Berkeley, and previously a masters at the University of Oxford and a Bachelors at Brigham Young University in History and German.

I am particularly excited to help students taking any kind of coursework or test in History, German, Literature, Philosophy, or writing who needs assistance in improving their writing or understanding concepts better. I genuinely enjoy discussing ideas and seeing progress in all those I work with.
