From a young age, I was captivated by the stories of the pastparticularly military historyand that fascination has only deepened over time. My passion for history led me to pursue a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in History from Appalachian State University, followed by a master's degree in History from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I've found great fulfillment in helping others connect with the past and see its relevance to the present.

I've worked extensively with students in both classroom and one-on-one settings, and I truly enjoy the moment when a challenging concept clicks for someone. Whether I'm breaking down the complexities of American government or guiding a student through the intricate timeline of world history, I aim to make learning accessible, engaging, and meaningful. These two subjectsAmerican government and world historyare my favorites to tutor because they offer countless opportunities to draw connections between historical events and current issues, helping students develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

My teaching philosophy centers around clarity, patience, and enthusiasm. I believe in meeting students where they are, adapting to different learning styles, and fostering a supportive environment where questions are encouraged and curiosity is rewarded. Outside of academia, I continue to explore my interest in history through reading, visiting historical sites, and staying informed on current events and political developments.
