As a student myself, I know how powerful it can be to have someone in your corner someone who supports your academic journey and creates a safe, welcoming space to ask questions and grow. I've always been very independent and self-sufficient, which made it hard for me to reach out for help when I needed it. That's a big part of why I'm so passionate about tutoring: I want to be the academic guide I wish I had. I want to be there for students not just to answer questions, but to build a space where they can learn comfortably, confidently, and without judgment.
Over the years, I've worked with students of all kinds, and every tutoring experience has helped me grow. I've had the privilege of building meaningful relationships with many of my tutees some that have even grown into wonderful friendships. Of course, there have also been challenges. Tutoring has required me to adapt, to listen, and to collaborate with my students to figure out the best path forward when something wasn't working. Each session whether smooth or messy has taught me something new about how to teach, how to communicate, and how to lead with patience and empathy.
I'm currently a senior at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, pursuing a degree in Software Engineering with a minor in Computer Engineering. (That's a lot of engineering, haha). Academically, I've always had a deep connection to subjects that sit at the intersection of logic and creativity namely math, programming, and English. Math and programming are areas where I have strong technical expertise, and they're some of my favorite subjects to tutor. However, growing up as the daughter of an English and Literature professor, I also have a real appreciation for language, analysis, and storytelling. All three subjects challenge students to think critically while giving them room to explore creative solutions and that's a balance I love to support in my sessions.
As a tutor, I'd describe myself as fun but focused. I like to keep things lighthearted I'm definitely a fan of having some laughs but I also make sure my students leave each session feeling like they've truly gained something. My approach is very student-led. I ask questions instead of giving answers, pushing my tutees to think through the material and make connections themselves. I try to stay concise and direct when explaining concepts, but I'm always guided by my students' needs and learning styles.
Outside of tutoring, I'm a varsity collegiate rower, and rowing has become one of my greatest passions. Whether I'm in a boat on the water or grinding through training at the gym, it's where I find focus, drive, and discipline traits that I carry with me into the classroom and into every tutoring session.
Tutoring isn't just something I do it's something I care deeply about. I'm here to help students find their footing, gain confidence, and succeed not just academically, but personally.
