Certified Tutor

I am a graduate from Washington University in St. Louis. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Honors Psychology and Dance. I've always loved being a teacher excelling at guiding students and helping them grow. I know how to break down material in a way that anyone can understand, and if something isn't clicking, I enjoy the challenge of learning more about how each student thinks in order to help them succeed. Eight years ago, I began tutoring Hebrew and assisting at my local dance studio. What started as helping out quickly evolved into leading private and group lessons, and I've now been teaching dance for nearly a decade. When the COVID-19 pandemic paused in-person instruction, I founded Screen to Screen, a free tutoring initiative for Baltimore elementary school students, so I could continue supporting young learners. Ultimately, my passion for how people learn led me to study psychology, where I've developed strong communication and academic writing skills. I regularly provided feedback on peers' writing through my honors coursework, and I led a literature review for a dance neuroscience project, offering guidance and next steps to fellow research assistants. While I tutor a wide range of subjects including English, Writing, and Math. I especially enjoy SAT prep and College Application Essay review. Not long ago, I was in my students' shoes, navigating the stressful college admissions process. A mentor helped me see the crafting of my application as not just as a task, but as a meaningful act of self-reflection. I now love helping students piece together authentic, compelling materials during this high-stakes moment in their lives.
