I'm deeply passionate about helping young learners build strong foundations in both literacy and numeracy.
I studied Elementary Education at Lenoir-Rhyne University and am certified to teach Kindergarten through 6th grade. My training and experience have shaped a teaching approach that is warm, patient, and centered around the individual needs of each student.
My heart is in teaching children how to read by focusing on strong phonics instruction and phonemic awareness. These are the essential building blocks of reading, and I love guiding students as they begin to connect sounds, recognize patterns, and grow in confidence. Once those skills are in place, I help students take the next stepsdeveloping fluency and comprehension, so they not only read the words but truly understand and enjoy what they're reading.
In addition to literacy, I support students in developing early numeracy skills and number sense. A strong understanding of numbers, patterns, and basic math concepts gives students the confidence they need to succeed as they move forward in math. I strive to make math approachable and fun, helping each child feel capable and curious.
My teaching style is nurturing, encouraging, and always tailored to each child's unique learning style. I believe in celebrating every milestoneno matter how smalland making learning a positive, confidence-building experience.
If you're looking for someone who will meet your child where they are and help them grow in a supportive and engaging way, I'd be honored to be part of their learning journey.
