Alexander: Fairfield tutor
Certified Tutor
My tutoring experience started informally in high school when I taught study groups, teaching AP Chemistry and AP Physics. As a college student studying engineering, I have a lot of passion for these subjects, and I have loved applying the things I've learned to higher-level classes like Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, and more. I have continued tutoring in college, and I've found that I have a real passion for it.
Beyond the classroom, I've also taught snowboarding lessons and instructed lifeguard and CPR/AED certification courses through the American Red Cross. Those experiences have exposed me to a wide range of learners, from teaching a 4-year-old how to snowboard to teaching a 70-year-old how to do CPR. This has taught me how to adjust a lesson to meet individual needs and how to encourage people to do their best.
My approach to tutoring is laid-back but focused. I try to meet students where they are, simplify what seems overwhelming, and make space for questions without judgment. Most of my experience is with college-level students, however, I have the flexibility to work with a wide range of students. My specialty is working with those who want to strengthen their understanding of subjects like Calculus, Physics, Statics, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Dynamics. I look forward to working with you and sharing my love for Math, Science, and Engineering.
