I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Dhruti: Suffolk County tutor

Certified Tutor

As a Computer Science student with a Business Administration minor at the University of Washington, I bring both analytical rigor and communication skills to my tutoring practice. I'm passionate about helping students because I believe learning becomes meaningful when students feel empowered and when concepts that once felt overwhelming begin to make sense and even spark curiosity. That transformation is what inspires me most.

I've worked with students across a wide range of grade levels and subjects. Through platforms like Varsity Tutors and programs with the King County Library System, I've supported K12 students in subjects including Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, AP Calculus AB/BC, and reading comprehension. I also serve as a research assistant at the UW Foster School of Business, where I teach the R programming language and support academic research. These experiences have shaped my ability to adapt to different learning styles, maintain patience, and create a welcoming environment where students aren't afraid to ask questions.

Math is my favorite subject to tutor because it builds confidence through practice and pattern recognition. I love breaking down complex ideas into simple steps and finding different ways to explain concepts until something "clicks." I also enjoy helping younger students build foundational reading and vocabulary skills, especially those navigating English as a second language.

My teaching style is flexible and student-centered. I prioritize active participation, use real-world examples to connect material to students' lives, and celebrate small wins to build momentum. I believe every student can succeed when they feel heard and supported, and I aim to be a tutor who listens first and teaches second.
