Certified Tutor

I am a Canadian certified teacher with 10 years of international teaching experience. I graduated from my dual undergraduate Bachelors degree in Education and Geography from Nipping University in 2015. After teaching international for about 6 years, I returned to school to complete a Master's degree in Curriculum Studies at the University of British Columbia. My thesis focused on discourse, power and the subject among teachers at an international edu-business in China. I have taught in Canada, England, China and now live and work in Medellin, Colombia. Most of my teaching experience has been with English as a Second Language learners, so I am very familiar with the challenges of learning English. I am know to say that "all teachers are English teachers." I am passionate about how the world functions, I have travelled to over 45 countries, and enjoy tutoring students in social studies subjects like Geography and History. I have also taught ESL for many years, so I am eager to help your student learn some tips and tricks with the English Language. I lead student centred lessons, that engage students in their areas of interest. I teach lessons, that allow students to explore learning in an interactive way. Outside of teaching, I like sports. I am a triathlete and I hope to get a personal best in the half marathon this year. I also have a cat and love to learn by reading books and listening to podcasts.
