Oluwatobi: Montgomery tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Yale University with a degree in Sociology and a concentration in cultural studies. My academic work has focused on writing, visual culture, and the politics of representation, and I bring that interdisciplinary approach to my tutoring practice.
I've worked with students in classroom and mentoring settings, including teaching high school students' photography and storytelling through Yale's Pathway Program and supporting curatorial learning through workshops. I've also tutored students in writing, history, and social theoryhelping them build clarity, structure, and confidence in their ideas.
While I tutor a range of humanities subjects, I'm especially passionate about writing and literature. I enjoy helping students strengthen their voice, sharpen their arguments, and see writing as a creative and intellectual tool. I also enjoy helping students through the college application process, with experience getting students into the Top 25.
My tutoring style is thoughtful and flexible, prioritize questions, conversation, and practical strategies that help students take ownership of their learning.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy studying photography, visiting museums, and writing about art, culture, and the connections between history and the present.
