I earned bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from New Mexico State University. While I was going to college for my bachelors, I was already working in a tax firm; first as an intern and once I graduated as a staff accountant. Thus, I am aware of the sacrifice it takes to work and study at the same time. After preparing many tax reports and financial reconciliations, I gained enough knowledge and experience to make the career shift I had been dreaming about for many years.
In 2018 I was hired to be Faculty for the Business program in a private college, which granted me the opportunity to teach a wide range of students, that are in different stages of their lives; working, unemployed, married, parents, single, young, and old. For over six years, I have also had the joy of teaching various advanced accounting, finance, statistics, and QuickBooks courses, both in person and online.
In order to help my students become successful, I like to share real-world examples that allow me to complement the textbooks and give my students a clearer picture of how to apply the material in their professional journey.
