Certified Tutor

I graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education - Keyboard. I am also in progress of completing my Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Pensacola Christian College. While in college, I participated in numerous music groups including band, orchestra, pep band, drum line, and handbells. I also accompanied several college students in a variety of singing lessons and classes. I also participated in graduate speech classes as an undergrad for student teachings. In high school, I participated in concert band, jazz band, choir, pep band, and marching band. I also traveled with the Iowa Ambassadors of Music to Europe while in high school. I excelled in literature and English, and participated in state festivals for Individual and Group Speech competitions. My core subjects are Music, Music History, Music Theory, Literature, Speech, and English. The most rewarding part of tutoring students is starting the lesson with "I don't know" and "I don't understand" and turning it into "I do know, and I do understand!" My goal is to help each student excel and learn the most they can in a tutoring session. Since graduating college, I led a choral group of students ranging 5-18, as well as accompanying a local choir. I enjoy teaching piano lessons to students of all ages, including adults who struggle to accompany others. In my spare time I enjoy reading British literature, crocheting, watching black and white tv shows, and spending time with my family and my dog.
