Amanda: Long Island tutor
Certified Tutor
I graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in Pre-K/Primary Education and an endorsement in ESOL. I went on and furthered my education at Saint Leo University where I obtained my Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I have been in education for 17 years. I was a classroom teacher for 13 years and an Assistant Principal for 4 years, which is my current role.
I have a strong background in elementary reading ranging from foundational skills to advanced comprehension. While my passion is teaching students to be successful readers, I also have a background in teaching all core subjects at the elementary level including math, science, social stories, and executive functioning.
I believe all students should feel successful in school but sometimes, this means some students may need extra support. Intervening early and providing academic scaffolds is a critical aspect in making sure students reach their highest potential.
