As a dedicated nursing professional with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), I am passionate about guiding the next generation of nurses toward excellence. With experience as a nursing professor, a critical care nurse, and a nurse business owner, I've developed a knack for making even the most complex concepts click, because I believe learning doesn't have to be intimidating to be impactful. In fact, I've found that the best learning happens when it's engaging, dynamic, and even fun, especially in moments that might otherwise feel overwhelming.
I pride myself on understanding how my students think and learn. No two minds work the same way, and that's what excites me about teaching. I thrive on finding creative approaches to bridge knowledge gaps, whether it's turning a challenging clinical skill into a step-by-step process or using humor and storytelling to make abstract theories stick. Seeing that "lightbulb moment" when a tough concept finally makes sense? That's what fuels me as an educator.
My diverse career has given me a wealth of experiences to draw from in the classroom. From the high-stakes world of critical care nursing to the strategic challenges of running a business, I bring real-world relevance to every lesson. My students learn not only how to pass their exams but also how to think critically, adapt under pressure, and navigate the complexities of patient care with confidence and compassion.
But above all, I believe that learning should be an empowering experience. Yes, it can be stressful at times, but that doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable. I work hard to create a positive, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, embracing challenges, and celebrating progress big or small. When learning feels approachable and even fun, students not only retain knowledge better but also carry forward a genuine excitement for the profession.
As a nurse tutor, I'm committed to cultivating a learning experience where curiosity thrives, challenges are met with resilience, and every student feels equipped to excel in their careers and beyond. Nursing is a tough job, but with the right mindset and tools, it's also one of the most rewarding and I'm here to help my students embrace both sides of that coin.
As a former homeschool teacher to my son who has autism, I was excited to explore learning in a way that was meaningful to him. From reading lists that included all 8 Books from Harry Potter to graphic novels, I insured that forest he wanted to read it, which made reading comprehension much more enjoyable. By teaching decoding a language, reading foundations become more attainable. I love kids of all abilities and have thousands of hours of experience working with students of all abilities including students with special needs.

Volunteering is not just a hobby for me—it’s a way of life. With over 20,000 hours of service, I have dedicated myself to uplifting others and creating opportunities for growth and connection. From working with the neuromuscular community to provide overnight camp programs that foster joy and independence, to supporting young women through scholarship programs that build civic engagement, public speaking skills, and performing arts opportunities, I find immense fulfillment in helping others thrive. Serving as a board member for a support program for local families with disabilities has also been a meaningful way to contribute to my community and advocate for inclusivity. Beyond volunteering, I love to immerse myself in the natural beauty of Washington. The outdoors are my sanctuary, whether it’s exploring local trails or simply enjoying the stunning landscapes. I’m also an avid reader, always eager to dive into a good book and explore new ideas or stories. These passions reflect my commitment to lifelong learning, personal growth, and a deep appreciation for the world around me.
