I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and General Business. During my time at VCU, I served as the Education Chair, mentoring younger students in biology and chemistry. This role allowed me to foster academic growth and ignite a passion for the sciences in others, solidifying my commitment to education.

Recently, I completed my Master's in Bioinformatics and am currently engaged in research at Mason while applying to PhD programs for next fall. My academic journey has provided me with extensive experience working with students in both formal and informal settings. Whether through peer mentoring or structured tutoring sessions, I have developed the ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible manner and tailor my teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.

I specialize in tutoring Biology and Chemistry, with Biology being my favorite subject to teach. I am fascinated by how biology unravels the mechanisms of life, from behavior genetics to psychology, offering profound insights into how we function. My teaching philosophy centers on a top-down approach, where I first emphasize the main concepts to build a strong foundational understanding before guiding students through the memorization of specific details. This method not only enhances comprehension but also promotes long-term retention of knowledge.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I am an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying basketball and football, and I thrive in laboratory settings where I engage in research and continuous learning. I am eager to gain more teaching experience before matriculating into a PhD program and am committed to creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment for my students.
