I am a graduate of the University of Texas. I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. I majored in life science with a minor in literature. I hold a Texas Teaching Certificate. I'm certified to teach all core subjects from 1st through 8th grade. I have an additional certification to teach kindergarten through 12th grade, special education, all subjects. I have twelve years of teaching experience in all subjects. I have taught at all grade levels in both the mainstream setting as well as in adaptive behavior settings. I have taught in a private school, home school and public school. I am most passionate about teaching english, reading, history and science. I enjoy working one on one and small groups settings. It is my intention to impart upon every student the desire to challenge themselves, set goals and expectations and stay focused on what it will take for them to achieve their goals. It is my hope to, awaken and leave a positive lasting impression on every student.

My first love is animals, especially dogs. I have six dogs that keep me entertained! Each is a rescue that I saved from a bad situation. In addition to my own dogs, I volunteer for non-profit rescue groups by fostering homeless dogs and participating in fundraising events. Animal rescue is my passion! I also like to fish. The most recent fishing trip brought in twelve hybrid bass! I love the thrill of reeling in a big fish. Currently, I do not have any dogs in foster care so I have a little more time to spend in my flowerbeds and garden. I enjoy the pretty blooms but my new infatuation are the butterflies that are attracted to each plant. Nature itself is very intriguing and educational. At the end of the day or during the peace and quiet, I can be found with a book in my hand! I love to read about most anything that I can learn from.
