Fleming: San Rafael tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Washington and Lee University. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive and Behavioral Science and having completed all premedical coursework. Currently, I am preparing for medical school applications. I have extensive experience tutoring students of different ages and a love for the learning and teaching process. In college I was selected by my university to be a paid peer tutor for undergraduate math, science, and psychology courses. In addition to subject specific work, I helped these students with time management and general study skills. I held this role for 3 years, tutoring around 3-7 students weekly. I also have experience tutoring younger students both from my home and college community in science in math courses. My time both as a student and tutor greatly inform how I approach working with students. I am passionate about the areas I teach but also understand the challenges of the subjects. My sessions are very interactive and I have found that one of the best ways to instill a mastery of a subject is to work towards a place where my student can explain concepts back to me. I am very patient and always explain concepts and problems multiple ways to cater to student's individual needs.
I want every student I work with to get the most out of our time together and reach their personal and academic goals. Therefore, I am happy to work students and parents throughout the tutoring process to make sure all expectations and needs are met. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
