Hello, my name is Luis, and I tutored many High School/College math courses. The math courses I have the most experience in is: Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, College Algebra, and Calculus AB (Calc I), SAT Math, and ACT Math. I've tutored locally here and there after I graduated from University in 2013, but since Covid, I've moved to online tutoring full time to really put a focus on each of my students.
Having been ahead in math for most of my K-12 education, my interest in math grew exponentially in High School which is where I could really showcase my knowledge. Being able to compete in multiple Math events in the University Interscholastic League (UIL), I received over 50 trophies (1st-3rd place), and twice as many ribbons (4th-6th place) in my 4 years of High School. I was also a part of the Varsity Calculators team as a sophomore, where we were able to secure 2nd place in the UIL Texas State meet. I also took and received a 5 (highest score) on multiple math AP tests including: (Calculus AB, Calculus BC, and Elementary Statistics).
During our session, I strive to figure out how to make the math material approachable in a positive way. I try to meet the student where they're at, so that I can provide the tools they need to succeed in their classes/exams. At the end of the day, my goal is always to help the student engage by thinking critically, as this allows them to become a better problem solver inside and out of their math course.
Feel free to message me for any questions or concerns!

Many of my interests and hobbies include things that tie back into math. Game Theory is one of the subjects of math that I've not studied extensively, but am very interested in as it has a lot of utility in learning. Cryptography is another subject that I find very interetsing.
