Hi Everyone. My name is Cherrie Rauls. Although I was born in Georgia I like to consider myself a Florida Native. I have always loved educating others, but initially, I had never taught professionally.
I studied at Stetson University in Deland, FL and majored in Business Administration and minored in Education. After graduating with my BBA I went to work at a bank the Risk Management and Construction Administration Department. Still feeling a hole I decided to pursue my MBA with a concentration in Human Resources at Keller Graduate School of DeVry University.
Due to the decline in the real estate market, I was offered an early retirement from banking. I "retired" and was blessed to be hired as a Digital Media and Computer Education instructor at a local Middle School TWO BUSINESS DAYS LATER! I have worked as the school-wide coordinator and elective instructor for a nationally known college prep program called AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) serving students in the academic middle grades 5-post secondary. I currently work as a SAFE counselor working with mental health, academic intervention, foster care, and homelessness.
I come from a family of educators. My mom and I completed our doctorate in Education together in 2021. I look forward to collaborating with all of you as sessions progress.
