As an educator I have made it my personal goal to find out everything I can about how students learn to read.
As a result of that I am working toward certification in Orton-Gillingham methods. I have a reading endorsement and I stay current on all the newest reading research.
Warren Buffet once said that knowledge is a skyscraper. You can take a shortcut with a fragile foundation of memorization, or build slowly upon a steel frame of understanding. I believe that building that foundation starts with foundational strategies and foundational skills. When we utilize a framework for building knowledge and use proven and researched strategies we can then begin to build a framework for gaining knowledge. It takes work and perseverance to reach a goal...learning doesn't happen overnight. If you are willing to put in the work, I am willing to help you every step of the way!
