development, (c) family/community engagement, and (d) one's own professional ethics and
obligations. A great teacher understands that the family must be a part of the students'
learning process. A great teacher is one who understands that teaching is about relating,
understanding and reading the needs of each student individually. Teaching requires patience, understanding and the skill set in applying a 'coaches' touch so to speak. When does that student need a 'pat' on the back and when a more disciplined approach is
required.. One size does not fit all.
