I retired from an Iowa farm operation in 2021 and moved to Northern Minnesota, 15 miles from the Canadian border. To find purpose in my retired life, I joined AmeriCorps and began tutoring math at our local school. Witnessing my students' math skill growth these past three school years has strengthened my enthusiasm for tutoring and math. Since beginning my tutoring journey, I have completed several advanced math online courses and coached a MathMasters team in a statewide competition.
