Certified Tutor

I primarily tutor English writing and analysis, and my favorite subject to teach is creative writing. I love to help students develop their stories and find their voice. My teaching philosophy is to find what interests the student, champion their successes, and foster a lifelong interest in learning.

I am passionate about education. I've taught screenwriting essentials for high school, I've tutored English essay writing, and I've assisted with the planning and implementation of several K12 programs from science fairs to high school trivia competitions. I have a bachelor's degree in theatre and digital video from James Madison University.

With an MFA in Creative Writing Fiction from George Mason University, I have an education in English and narrative structure. I've spent the last five years working at a college, most recently in admissions and application review.

When I'm not tutoring or reading, you can find me writing my novel, cooking 3-course meals in the kitchen, or planting herbs in my garden.
