Certified Tutor

While completing my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences, at my school, The University of Texas at El Paso, I faced challenges in the curriculum, as well as doubts about my abilities. Overcoming imposter syndrome was incredibly difficult, and took many hours of patience.
After a particularly difficult course, I was offered the position of tutor for the same course. I instantly knew I wanted to take on the role. My eagerness stemmed from how easy it was for me to relate to the students. I had been in their same shoes struggling with the mountains of material that was covered, and firsthand knew what helped me the best.
Since starting that role, I have tutored other students ages ranging from elementary to college, and subjects ranging from Biology to reading comprehension. I know the importance of practicing patience, understanding, and conciseness for them to succeed.
