I earned my Associate's and Bachelor's degrees in Management Information Systems (MIS) from Metropolitan State University in Minnesota, and hold a certificate in Applied Linguistics (TESOL/TEFL). I am pursuing my master's degree in MIS while working part-time as a language tutor and AI trainer.
With a passion for languages and education, I have several years of experience teaching English, Vietnamese (Southern dialect), and Hmong/Moob to speakers of other languages. My tutoring covers a wide range of learners, from beginners to advanced students, helping them build confidence in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension. I particularly enjoy tutoring languages because I love seeing students gain confidence in expressing themselves naturally.
My teaching philosophy is student-centeredI believe in adapting lessons to each learner's needs, making learning interactive, engaging, and enjoyable. I encourage curiosity, cultural connections, and real-world application to help students retain what they learn.
Beyond academia, I enjoy reading, exploring different cultures through languages, and connecting with people who share similar interests. As an immigrant and multilingual speaker, I understand the challenges of education and love supporting students on their journey.
