Certified Tutor
I have recently graduated with an English degree from the University of Liverpool and am currently studying for a Masters Degree in English Language. I have always had a passion and keen interest in English which I aim to harness in all of my students. I have a couple of years experience tutoring students of all ages, from primary to A-level and believe that the initial stages of a child's education are crucial to their further development and so make it my mission to foster a well established understanding and connection with English in the early stages.
I aim to provide a personalised and interactive experience for all of my students, ensuring they are fully engaged and have a good in depth understanding of the subject. I am passionate about English and believe that it is important to foster this attitude in order to enhance the capabilities of my students and love for the subject that I myself have. I believe in working closely with parents and guardians in order to ensure complete transparency and a full understanding of the progress their child is making. I believe an interactive approach to learning such as educational games, question and answer, and writing activities allows students to get stuck into tasks and harness their abilities. Integrating multimedia resources and technology enhances comprehension and retention as well as establishing clear learning objectives and providing regular feedback allowing students to track their progress and maintain motivation. Overall, a student centred approach that priorities engagement, collaboration and practical application is essential for effective education.

I have a keen interest in reading and running. I am trying to read as many classics as I can and love to read inspiring essays from authors such as Virginia Woolf's 'A Room of One's Own', George Orwell's 'Why I Write' and Mary Wollstonecraft's 'A Vindication For The Rights of Woman'. I am currently reading Leo Tolstoy's 'Anna Karenina' and am thoroughly enjoying the passionate and nuanced way Tolstoy curates the relationships between characters as well as how the characters are presented to the reader themselves. I have recently completed a half-marathon also, hence my love of running, and aim to push myself further by taking up trail running once I purchase a better pair of trail running shoes!!
