As a tutor, I have a strong commitment to fostering academic growth and personal development in my students, and I have a passion for making education accessible. I received my Bachelor's degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in Global Studies with a Minor in Arabic.
I am currently a tutor for the following subjects: Elementary School Math/Reading/Writing/Homework Subjects, Middle School Math/English/Homework Subjects, High School Chemistry/Other Homework Subjects, International Baccalaureate Projects and IAs, IB Theory of Knowledge, IB Theatre, Spanish (pre-college levels), Arabic (pre-graduate school levels), English as a Second Language (ESL), African American Diaspora Studies, and Performing Arts Studies. I speak Spanish and can tutor in Spanish if needed.
After college, I worked for three years at Cisco Systems as a Project Specialist for Executive Sponsorship and Country Leader Center of Excellence. As a tutor, I have worked at an afterschool program in Durham North Carolina, provided after-school virtual tutoring through Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success (TEES), and volunteered as a dance instructor for physical education classes. I also taught elementary school math and reading for elementary school students through an international refugee program. I have experience as an in-person dance teacher, choreographer, and on-stage director for large groups of students. Outside of the states, I lived in Myanmar for one year teaching performing arts electives. All of these experiences have given me a deep understanding of unique learning needs, and has allowed me to grow my teaching strategies.
I believe in tailoring my tutoring style to each student, ensuring a personalized learning experience. I am dedicated to providing the resources that each of my students need, and I am accessible to parents and guardians as needed.
