Certified Tutor

I am currently in my second year of studying for my bachelor's degree in International Relations and Politics at Durham University in Durham, England. Despite being a student in the UK, I was born and raised in Washington D.C., learning to teach during my middle and high school years. Most of my teaching experience comes from teaching taekwondo to students of all ages for the past six years, something that I have continued with in university! While it is not an academic subject, the job has taught me patience and invaluable communication skills that apply to any teaching field. I have experience tutoring in multiple subject areas; however, I find the greatest pleasure in tutoring writing. I was a tutor for my high school's Writing Center during my junior and senior years of high school, an opportunity that I never took for granted. There is greatness in being able to work with people of all backgrounds and writing styles, helping them create something they can be proud of. What I was able to help with was not limited to academic writing but extended to college application essays, personal creative works, and even business proposals. Good writing can change someone's life forever, and I strive to help them reach that point.
