I'm Angelo Menna, an experienced, expert STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Math), SAT (Score: 1540/1600), PSAT (1480/1520), ACT (35/36), Chess (USCF Ranking: 2000), SHSAT (600; Top 3%), TACHS Scholarship Exam (99th Percentile) and Digital/Graphic Design (PLTW Exam Score: 100%) educator, instructor and tutor. As a proud STEM enthusiast, entrepreneur, and Computer Science Major @ Baruch Macaulay Honors College (5-8% Acceptance Rate) with a Software Engineering Major Diploma AND an Advanced Regents Regents Diploma with 2x Regents Honors Distinction from Brooklyn Technical High School (GPA: 4.0), one of the two top elite High Schools of NYC and also the LARGEST high school in the country, I am deeply passionate about helping students unlock their potential and excel academically. I also joined as many many intellectual societies in high school as possible, like NHS, NSHSS, The Mensa IQ Society @ NYC (IQ: 145-155; Acceptance Rate: 1-2%), The US Chess Federation (Percentile: 96.7; Rank: 2035), and The Knowledge Society @ NYC (Acceptance Rate: 10%) just to name a few. At only 14 years old, I started tutoring/teaching as a volunteer at MakerState LLC, where I found joy in teaching STEM subjects through hands-on projects and interactive tools. Even though I had years of experience playing competitive 2035 USCF Ranked level Chess during middle and high school, I was drawn to STEM education At MakerState (a private STEM instruction institution), where I started as an official STEM Instructor volunteer, immersing myself in teaching coding, robotics, and engineering to students, with over 400+ hours of volunteering. Through dedication and hard work, I quickly progressed and was promoted to a MakerFellow, a paid senior STEM instructor role. Under the mentorship of Director Stephen Gilman, I honed my skills in designing syllabi, managing classrooms, and fostering an environment of learning and innovation. My academic journey furthered with a DevOps Post-Grad certificate from Caltech CTME Institute, enhancing my expertise in technology and education. Currently, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at CUNY Baruch. My academic background, including an advanced regents diploma from Brooklyn Technical High School, provides me with a solid foundation to guide students through complex concepts and technologies. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with students of various ages and backgrounds, both in formal classrooms and informal mentoring roles. Whether at Launch Math + Science Centers or MakerState LLC, my focus remains on creating engaging learning experiences tailored to individual needs. With proficiency in coding, robotics, graphic design, and web development, I find joy in tutoring computer science, where I can inspire the next generation of STEM innovators. My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering collaboration, encouraging exploration, and providing hands-on experiences to facilitate learning. I believe in creating a collaborative and interactive learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, explore new ideas, and learn through experience. My approach is tailored to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual needs, ensuring that each student receives personalized attention and support. Beyond academia, my interests extend to entrepreneurship, where I gained valuable experience as a Sales and Marketing Representative at Vector Marketing. Additionally, my membership in various societies such as TKS, Mensa IQ Society, National Honors Society, and NSHSS reflects my commitment to continuous learning and personal development. In summary, my dedication to empowering students, coupled with my expertise in STEM and technology, positions me as a passionate and effective tutor committed to helping students achieve their academic goals and unlock their full potential.
