Azam Ali: Roanoke tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a Ph.D. graduate specializing in Molecular Epidemiology, Microbiology, and Molecular Genetics, with a Master's in Epidemiology and a professional degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM). My passion lies in developing innovative solutions to combat multidrug-resistant enteric and foodborne infections using cutting-edge molecular, epidemiological, and bioinformatics tools.
With over five years of experience in teaching, I thrive on helping students master both basic and advanced concepts in epidemiology, public health, microbiology, and biostatistics especially using R, SAS, POWER BI, and Tableau Software. For me, teaching goes beyond imparting knowledge, it's about equipping students with the skills to understand complex concepts and apply them confidently. I am dedicated to empowering students to achieve their academic and professional goals by providing clear explanations, practical examples, and personalized guidance.
Throughout my career, I have taught students from diverse academic backgrounds in both classroom settings and one-on-one tutoring sessions. I have also mentored numerous undergraduate students in the lab, guiding them through hands-on research projects. My approach is to first understand each student's unique learning goals and challenges, then tailor my teaching methods to best support their journey.
In addition to teaching, my involvement in multidisciplinary research projects has honed my ability to apply scientific knowledge to real-world problems. This dual experience in teaching and research enables me to offer students a practical and deep understanding of science subjects, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Science is all about curiosity, questioning, and reasoning. If you have questions or need help understanding a topic, don't hesitate to reach out. Together, we will tackle all challenges and master the concepts with confidence.
