I am a passionate teacher. I have worked as a teacher for 15 years and enjoyed every year. Most of my years are in 1st grade. Thus, I am experienced in teaching students how to read or become better readers. I also have a good understanding of the foundations of math. I have also taught 4th grade, which gave me experience in upper elementary math, such as working with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.
I graduated from the University of Arizona with an Elementary Education Degree. Before teaching, I worked with children as a youth leader with the YMCA. In high school, I also tutored elementary students. I had plenty of experience working with children before I became a teacher.
My philosophy of teaching is to be kind and attentive but strict. If a child feels safe and respected in their environment, they will be more susceptible to learning. Strict because children need to know that there are deadlines to be met and goals to achieve. To achieve these goals in academia they need a good work ethic.

Outside of teaching, I am an avid hiker. I enjoy being out in nature and discovering places where the modern world can't be heard. I am also a fitness buff. I go to the gym often because I believe in a healthy mind and body. Along with going to the gym and hiking, I am practicing cooking healthy meals. My goal is to have my own garden of fresh produce.
