I feel most fulfilled when I can be a helper, and I enjoy working with students for this reason. I value connections with people and excellent working relationships with students. The subjects I am most passionate about tutoring and teaching are English Language Arts, reading, and writing. I obtained a Bachelors in English from Washington State University, and a Master in Teaching Secondary after that also from WSU. Learning is an essential function in my own life that I will continually and faithfully practice as long as I am able. I have an open mind and an open heart, and this fosters conversations and connections with others. The best practices I know in teaching require interpersonal work to get to know one another and to establish trust. In my personal time I read and write often, I love to be near bodies of water and to enjoy the rain, and I like to play pickleball.

I read and write as often as possible, and I love books and literature. I enjoy practicing yoga, and sometimes hot yoga. I love iced coffee drinks. I enjoy a practice well known in Japan as forest bathing and taking walks in nature. I like to play pickleball. I am an animal lover. I enjoy watching shows on the Food Network and doing some cooking of my own sometimes.
