I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington where I majored in Drama and Philosophy. While attending UW I also took many Spanish courses as well as a few science classes including Physics, Biology and Chemistry. I focused on Theatre history, logic and ethics within my majors on my years there. Since graduating I have worked in a Science museum for many years, working with children of all ages as well as adults, performing live science and planetarium shows as well as teaching other science subjects both at the museum and online. I currently teach after school programs in Seattle, including Video Game Design, and Improv, Acting, Musicals, as well as some science courses. I mostly teach elementary age students but have taught older students in theatre including middle school and high school age. My teaching philosophy is essentially fun, learning can and should be fun! If it's funny, if it's interesting you're more likely to retain it. I also am very much about empowering the student to think critically and come up with answers on their own. I ask questions, a lot of questions that are designed not to quiz your knowledge, but to get you thinking and make the right logical steps to find the right answers by yourself. In my spare time I like performing theater and Murder Mystery shows in the greater Seattle area as well as playing Dungeons and Dragons, and many video games.
