Tea
Certified Tutor
I am a recent graduate from St. Mary's University, receiving my Bachelor of Science in physics with a minor in mathematics. I have an extensive tutoring background, having assisted students in introductory physics, calculus, and chemistry courses through the university's tutoring service as well as independent tutoring roles for high school-level physics.
As a dedicated educator, my teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that everyone is entitled to pursue education. I firmly believe that effective learning should be inclusive and welcoming, creating an environment where students from all backgrounds feel empowered to explore and excel in their studies.
My favorite subjects to tutor are those that blend science with an algebraic and calculus foundation, such as physics. One of my greatest joys as a tutor is building up people's self-confidence in subjects that are often considered exclusive to "smart people." I am passionate about demystifying complex concepts and making them accessible to learners of all levels. My approach is not just about imparting knowledge but also instilling a sense of belief in one's ability to conquer challenging subjects.

Undergraduate Degree: St. Mary's University - Bachelor of Science, Physics
I enjoy cross-curricular activities that combine multiple subjects, such as math, art, and history. These activities not only make learning more engaging but also highlight the interconnectedness of different disciplines. Whether it's exploring the mathematical patterns in art, examining the historical context of scientific discoveries, or using art to depict historical events, I believe in the power of these activities to inspire curiosity and creativity while reinforcing subject knowledge. Mindfulness is another integral aspect of my life. I am a firm believer in the importance of being present and cultivating mindfulness as a means to reduce stress, enhance focus, and improve overall well-being. Activities like yoga, journaling, and meditation are essential parts of my routine. These practices allow me to stay grounded, centered, and attentive, which, in turn, informs my teaching style. I often share mindfulness techniques with my students, helping them manage academic challenges while promoting emotional and mental well-being. These diverse interests and hobbies shape my teaching style by enabling me to connect with students from various backgrounds and interests. I believe that learning is not confined to the classroom and that by sharing these passions, we can create a more enriching and fulfilling educational experience together.
