Matt: Bernalillo County tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of The College of William & Mary '16. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies (all of which was taught in Spanish) with a minor in Philosophy (taught in English). After graduation, I served in the Peace Corps as an EFL teacher in Colombia. In addition, I have extensive familiarity with the Spanish of Argentina and Spain. I would be happy to tailor your Spanish lessons to the country or region of your choice.
As W&M is a liberal arts college, I can tutor a broad range of subjects but I am most passionate about Spanish, Philosophy, and English literature and composition. Philosophy majors score higher on average than any other major on standardized tests and I have a few crucial tips for acing them, which I learned studying the subject.
I am a firm proponent of formal education, believing it to be indispensable for high quality of life, and I try to model this appreciation for all of my students. Far from being "luxury" subjects, my Philosophy and Hispanic Studies education has led me to succeed in a variety of jobs, including in politics, academic publishing, and teaching. My students are able to ace tests, impress with their homework, and apply their knowledge in the real world--both in the working world and their personal lives.
In my spare time, I enjoy working out, running, reading, writing, playing guitar, and attending language exchange or dance meetups with my friends.
