LeeAnn
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Penn State University and Misericordia University. I hold an Associate of Science degree in Occupational Therapy, a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. In addition, throughout my occupational therapy career I have completed extensive continuing education related to mental health and wellness, pediatrics, behavioral health, mindfulness, vision development and treatment, and concussion management. I have supervised many occupational therapy fieldwork students as a practitioner and have taught at the collegiate level in courses including professional skills, fieldwork, group dynamics, documentation, and human development.
Much of my OT career has been working in pediatrics in a variety of settings; however, I have always had school-based students on my caseload. I have had extensive experience working with and supporting students in a brick-and-mortar classroom environment, as well as cyber/virtual environments. I have worked with many students diagnosed with ASD, from non-verbal to high functioning. In addition to addressing daily living and motor skills, I have worked extensively on social skills with children with ASD. During my time working at a non-profit, I was also able to write a grant proposal for a social skills program/group that I designed based on current evidence. I also have a 10 year old who is diagnosed with ASD, ADHD, and Anxiety and have spent many years working on social skills with him myself, as well as with a variety of therapists who have also provided me with strategies.
I have always loved having students and teaching, so tutoring gives me the opportunity to continue to help students to learn, grow, and be successful.
