Certified Tutor
I am an undergraduate studying at Columbia University, majoring in biology and economics on the pre-med track. I have numerous experience tutoring, which include tutoring for Varsity Tutors as well as tutoring peers all throughout high school and college. Throughout my years of experience, one crucial thing I bring to a tutoring session is the energy to learn. If I am excited to teach, my students will be more excited to learn. I want my students to be engaged and excited to learn and I believe I can bring that out of a student. The best thing a tutor can bring to the table is experience. There's no one who relates more to the student than another student who has already experienced it all. I believe I can bring my experience of success throughout my pre-college years to help any student prepare for college.
Throughout high school, one of my favorite extracurricular activities consisted of tutoring foreign students English. I enjoyed tutoring fellow classmates all throughout high school especially in topics relating to STEM and standardized testing. Standardized test prep has always been a difficult part of the journey into college. I was able to persevere and learn how to tackle these exams, which I hope to be able to bring into my tutoring. Personally, I could not find an adequate tutor and had to learn how to master these exams by myself, which is why I want to be able to provide and support students with an opportunity to learn how to ace these exams.
