I am a graduate of Dallas Baptist University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in History. Currently, I am a grad student at UNT. I will graduate in May 2024 with a Master's in English. I have five years of experience in a public classroom teaching high school Honors English classes. Before that, I homeschooled three of my six children. All in all, I have over 20 years of teaching experience. I tutor English, which includes writing, grammar, reading, and analysis of literature. I tutor study skills, STAAR prep, and SAT prep. I am trained in AP English (Lit and Lang) and have extensive experience with writing fiction. I have a deep love of literature and helping students to learn how to learn. I believe that all students deserve a teacher who is committed 100% to helping them succeed whatever that looks like for them! I am committed to being a hands-on teacher who sees the need of the student first! When I am not teaching I love being with my friends and family. We love to eat out and discover new restaurants in our community. We play games (both board and video), are very active in our local church, and find ways to give back to our community.

One of my favorite things to do is to serve my community. Once a month my family and I, along with our church, go out into the community and work on various projects - from cleaning up the sides of the roads, to planting flowers, bushes, etc at someone's home to stuffing backpacks for students. I also love to read! I am an avid writer - mostly fiction! I love to crochet, cook, and camp! But mostly I love spending time with my family.
