I graduated with a BA in American Studies from Hillsdale College and received an MA in American Government from Regent University. I tutor English (high school, adult literacy, ESL) and American history/civics. After graduation I worked as a government contractor in the DC metro area and then as a state employee in Oklahoma before I began teaching English online through VIPKID. Through VIPKID I gained valuable experience working with an online platform and discovered the joy of helping others improve their English speaking and writing skills. The ability to articulately express oneself is a key component of success in school, work, and life. I also have a passion for helping students understand America's history and system of government as they prepare to take on the responsibility of citizenship. Learning should be challenging and fun for both the teacher and student. When not teaching and tutoring I enjoy running, gardening, and snuggling with my two children.
