Certified Tutor

As a registered nurse for many years, I have experience in various areas of nursing including surgery, maternity, education, and leadership. After graduating from Geisinger Medical Center's School of Nursing Diploma Program I decided to further my education. I advanced from the RN to BSN and then to the Master of Science and Advanced Practice Nursing with both degrees from the University of Maryland. Once again, I advanced my education by becoming a certified life coach.
This education journey not only increased my advanced knowledge in my field but also in my personal life caring for my family (a husband and six children). Therefore, while teaching at Penn State University I could be empathetic to the struggles of any student as they were balancing work and life to achieve their goals.
Later in my career and due to my leadership experiences and certifications, I accepted a leadership position in a local health care system. My title was Director of Organizational Development. In this position I provided educational opportunities to both professional and auxiliary personnel which included NCLEX reviews and life/leadership coaching.
The greatest joy I receive in tutoring and mentoring students is when the student realizes and recognizes the knowledge and expertise that is within themselves.
