I am about to be a graduate (December 2023) of Florida State University with my Bachelor of Science in Biology and Secondary Education. I will also have minors in Psychology and Chemistry. During my time as a Teaching Assistant for FSU, and my time in the education program, I have found a passion for teaching. I decided I wanted to pursue a career in teaching, specifically Middle School and High School Science. I am most interested in Biology because I enjoy learning about various organisms. However, throughout my undergraduate career, I have developed a strong understanding of various maths and sciences and I have obtained experience teaching both subject areas. I believe in student-centered learning because when the student does the sense-making, the results are much more powerful. Therefore, I see my role as a teacher/tutor to be a guide, facilitator, and toolbox that provides appropriate support to help the student succeed and reach their goals.

I enjoy being outside as I love nature, specifically the beach and woodsy trails. I also enjoy watching various movies and shows as well as reading books. Music is very important to me in my daily life whether I am getting ready for the day or driving down the road! I have a very rare breed of cat called a Nebelung that I adopted from the Humane Society. Her name is Luna and she acts as my little shadow whenever I am home! Lastly, I love learning about other countries and cultures and I hope to travel around the world someday!
