I am currently a medical student at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a Specialization in Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, and Genetics from Boston University. While at BU, I became an EMT and upon graduating, worked in a busy 911 system for the next 4 years. I also spent 2 of those years working in a small community-level emergency department as an ER technician and became certified as an EMS instructor. At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was deployed to NYC where I responded to 911 calls alongside FDNY to help as many patients as we could in the face of overwhelming patient need. When I returned to Boston, I pursued a Master's of Public Health at the George Washington University to learn more about how we can address many of the issues that the pandemic exposed.
Aside from working as an EMS instructor where I both ran small group sessions for students to practice clinical skills and also lectured from time-to-time, I have several years of tutoring experience in math and different science subjects at the high school level. I believe in the "See one, Do one, Teach one" method. I think it is important to see examples of how problems are solved and then be guided in doing a problem together. Afterwards, understanding can be assessed by having the student teach back what they understood so that any missing pieces can be addressed.
Outside of medicine, I play basketball and love watching sports (primarily basketball, football, and hockey). I am a dog and cat lover, coffee-drinker, and loyal friend. I love music and going to concerts. I am also very passionate about LGBTQ+ rights and combatting systemic racism.
