I am very dedicated in providing a high standard of education. I have a very creative mind, which means I have a lot of interests. My main Interest is providing creative ways for children to learn. I have strong interests in music, drama, arts and dance. I have used these interests to develop effective lessons for children whist doing my teacher training. I have a passion for cooking, which creates a unique opportunity for children to learn science or even to develop a life skill as well as their social skills.
I strongly believe I will add to the ethos and school spirit, continuing to make a difference in children's lives. I will bring enthusiasm and creativity to the classroom. There will always be encouragement and effective teaching methods when delivering the content of lessons. I will be a role model for the children to look up to, as I will support and guide them professionally. There will be no two days, that are the same, but I can guarantee that there will always be a smile on my face. Teaching has always been my dream, though training and studying to be a teacher was not an easy road, I never gave up. I worked hard and persevered. I believe I can be an asset to motivate children to reach their ultimate goals. I can convey the right growth mindset throughout a classroom.
In 2011 I enrolled as a student at University to become a Secondary Business Studies Teacher. I studied hard and trained for four years. Upon my arrival in the UK in 2015, I found out that I had to undergo further training to become a qualified teacher in the UK. This discovery did not deter me from following my dreams. I found full time employment within the public sector. Whilst working, I used my days off to volunteer in a local Primary school. My time in the Primary School showed me that I belonged. The teachers and teaching assistants all motivated me and applauded how wonderful I was with the children. Working there also helped me to identify my strengths and weaknesses. Thereafter, I began working as part- time Cover Supervisor in different Secondary Schools. This helped me to develop my confidence and classroom management. I gained a lot of experience and knowledge while I was working as cover supervisor. It taught me how to cope in pressured situation and how to always be professional.
I started teaching online as a Teacher for ESL in 2018. I taught English to children and adults mainly in China, Taiwan and Singapore. I taught using an online classroom, using interactive whiteboard. Though this was a new experience for me, I gave it my all and I loved it. This experience has taught me how to effectively engage with children from ages 5-13 online. It was a very demanding and challenging job but, it gave me a real insight into how to support and challenge children within a virtual classroom, in order for them to achieve their full potential.
During my PGCE, I have worked in Years 2 and 3. I have also observed Nursery, Years 1, 4, 5 and 6. I have learnt that there are many different teaching styles, however, you have to find the most appropriate, effective and suitable method for your children. I have learnt many skills, behavioural techniques and also strategies to motivate and encourage children to participate in class.
I am extremely good at working as a team, this creates a highly productive environment that develops effective planning and teaching. This enables us to share ideas, experiences, support and guidance. I have a strong belief that a school is a family, the children, the caretakers, parents, staff should all collaborate as a team, with one main vision, to provide a safe environment that drives a high standard of Education.
Planning is vital to me, for effective teaching and learning and I have found that formative assessment is key. This allows the teacher to assess children's learning. This permits teachers to plan effectively for the upcoming lessons. Probing and Observations are important to my teaching as it helps me to provide children with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and understanding. This also helps children to make real life connections to what they are learning.
Another key aspect of my teaching is differentiation. I make it my duty to cater to all abilities, so that all children can access effective learning and teaching, that promotes progression. I also make sure that with every lesson, children have the opportunity to challenge themselves. They will develop a sense of resilience and perseverance, wonderful for their growth mindset.
Teaching and learning should bring joy, determination to succeed. I am confident I can be that teacher. My PGCE course has provided me invaluable experiences, training and opportunities to be an outstanding professional. The School direct route has provided me with additional thorough training such as PREVENT, Assessment for learning and differentiation Mastery in Mathematics, SEND and mental health and many more.
I am a very kind and trustworthy person and have always enjoyed working alongside children and their families. I believe that with all good things there will be obstacles to overcome. I am determined to work hard to be an outstanding teacher for the benefit of the children. I am willing to go above and beyond in cohesion with all stakeholders, to drive and develop children to the best of their abilities. I am always thriving to be a better version of myself and to always continue to develop my skills as a teacher.
I am always excited to learn new methods and techniques that can build on my professional development. Teaching is a very demanding job, however, there is no other career that is more rewarding. I am very determined and creative. I have faith that I can educate and inspire the future generation.
