Certified Tutor

Working currently in a Secondary School as a Teaching Assistant, I have long enjoyed my personal experiences with education, and therefore decided to pursue a career in teaching. Having graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, I would like to use the skills I have obtained over my decade of study, to guide and impassion students in the subject I love the most!

As stated in my 'Interests', I love to read, and have even dabbled in writing poetry- some of which has been published! Unfortunately, this is not a hobby that my sisters share, as they both struggle with dyslexia, and even dyscalculia. Because of this, I spent many hours after dinner helping them to read- whether that be their homework, their favourite magazine, or even the back of a cereal box!

Despite working currently in a Secondary school, I have plenty of prior experience in Primary education: from teaching phonics to accelerated reading programmes, I am wholly comfortable working with younger students, whether it be a classroom, a small group, or a 1:1 experience.

Furthermore, I have just accepted a place at the University of Manchester to start my Post Graduate degree in PGCE Secondary English, which will qualify me to teach full time within a year.
